Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Anamakos is a regenerative real estate development firm led by Forbes 30 Under 30 Founder Tara Gupta.
Our urban systems need to face a major transition in oder to combat the rapidly shifting climate. And while building new smart cities to meet a growing population seems like a solution for many, most of the challenge lies in adapting our existing cities, infrastructure, and building stock into sustainable, social structures that will meet our new needs.
We see a way to do this.
After studying urban systems at the Rhode Island School of Design, Tara Gupta traveled the world to shadow urban planners and builders creating new models for equity and sustainability in varied environments. She envisioned a circular economy, passive house way of developing new residences, transforming existing cities through a Jane Jacobs-like approach, incrementally.
Anamakos is now building this approach into our projects, starting with development in the Washington D.C. area and expanding to new cities from there.
The team at Anamakos follows the idea of Anna Maya Kosha, from where the name is derived, building a strong physical sheathe for these developments so the mental, emotional, and other layers can flourish upon its foundation.
WHAT ARE WE CREATING?
Smart, Sustainable Residences + Smart, Sustainable Cities + Smart, Sustainable Infrastructure
WHY DO WE NEED A GLOBAL BIOPHILIC TRANSFORMATION?
Cities must become more regenerative. Our current ways of building are wasteful and harmful to our health and longevity as a society. We must model our built environment by regenerative structures such as trees, creating net positive structures that plan for future deconstruction.
Residences must become smarter. In this brave new world, we need global internet access, data-rich sensors that balance our many human needs, and more.
Infrastructure must become more collaborative. We must find the right balance of Public private partnerships to balance the massive infrastructure needs of America, and emerging economies. Infrastructure must respond to and maintain the social fabric of our rich communities and economies.
